AeroPerch is building the ground infrastructure that autonomous drone fleets need to operate at scale. Today most drones fly short missions and return to where they started, because there is nowhere along the way to recharge or offload data. Our field-deployed nodes give drones a place to land, charge wirelessly, exchange data and keep flying, turning one-off flights into continuous operations. Our first customers are in energy and critical infrastructure, with agriculture, public safety and defense to follow.
About the team
We are a small, early team with backgrounds in defense, aerospace and technology. The manufacturing team takes the node from prototype to repeatable production, working with U.S. contract manufacturers and building parts in-house where it makes sense.
About the job
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to make our nodes and receivers buildable, reliable and affordable at volume. You will set up our supply chain and production processes from the first production run.
What you'll do
- Prepare the node and receiver for production through design for manufacturing and assembly reviews
- Select and manage contract manufacturers and suppliers
- Develop assembly processes, work instructions, fixtures and end-of-line tests
- Bring parts in-house where it lowers cost, such as coil winding, cable assemblies, 3D-printed parts and simple machined parts
- Track yield, cost and quality, and lead cost reduction
- Set up the quality system and supplier quality program
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering
- 4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience on electromechanical products
- Demonstrated experience with DFM and DFA, process development and fixture design
- Experience managing contract manufacturers and suppliers
- Familiarity with PCB assembly, cable harness and enclosure manufacturing processes
- Lean and quality tools (PFMEA, control plans, root cause analysis)
- U.S. Person status is required, as this position requires access to export-controlled information

- Power electronics, battery or EV charging products
- Scaling hardware from low to mid volume
- Building a domestic supply chain
- ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems
- Factory layout and automation
