AeroPerch is building the ground infrastructure that autonomous drone fleets need to operate at scale. Today most drones fly short missions and return to where they started, because there is nowhere along the way to recharge or offload data. Our field-deployed nodes give drones a place to land, charge wirelessly, exchange data and keep flying, turning one-off flights into continuous operations. Our first customers are in energy and critical infrastructure, with agriculture, public safety and defense to follow.
About the team
We are a small, early team with backgrounds in defense, aerospace and technology. The hardware team owns the node end to end: the wireless charging system, power electronics, enclosure and field integration. We move quickly from simulation to bench to field, and every engineer works hands-on across disciplines.
About the job
We are looking for a Test Engineer to prove that our nodes work, and keep working, in the field. You will build the test plans, fixtures and data systems that take the node from first prototype to a product customers trust outdoors year-round.
What you'll do
- Write test plans for components, subsystems and the full node
- Design and build test fixtures and automated test stations
- Run environmental testing: temperature, humidity, water ingress, vibration and UV
- Run long-duration reliability testing on charging and power systems
- Coordinate EMC and safety pre-compliance and third-party lab testing
- Analyze test data, track failures and drive fixes with design engineers
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering or a related field
- 3+ years of hardware test or validation experience
- Demonstrated experience writing test plans, building fixtures and analyzing data
- Environmental testing experience (thermal chambers, ingress testing, vibration)
- Python or LabVIEW for test automation
- Comfortable working with power electronics and high-voltage safety practices
- U.S. Person status is required, as this position requires access to export-controlled information
Preferred qualifications
- EMC pre-compliance testing
- Battery or charging system testing
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-810, IEC 60529 or UL standards
- Field reliability and failure analysis
- Production end-of-line test development
